Publication Ethics

Technology, Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence (TENAR) is committed to maintaining scientific integrity, transparency, and professionalism throughout the publication process. This journal applies publication ethics standards that refer to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines to ensure that every published article adheres to the principles of academic honesty, originality, and scientific responsibility.

All parties involved in the publication process, namely editors, reviewers, authors, and publishers, have a responsibility to comply with the following ethical standards.

Editor's Responsibilities
The editor is responsible for managing the editorial process professionally, objectively, and transparently from manuscript receipt to the final decision on publication.
In carrying out their duties, the editor must:

  1. Evaluate manuscripts based on their scientific quality, novelty, methodology, contribution to the development of knowledge, and their suitability to the journal's scope. 
  2. Make editorial decisions without being influenced by the authors' backgrounds, such as ethnicity, religion, race, gender, citizenship, institutional affiliation, or political views. 
  3. Ensure that the entire review process is conducted fairly through a double-blind, anonymous peer review mechanism. 
  4. Maintain the confidentiality of all information related to the manuscript and not disclose it to other parties without the author's consent, except when required by law. 
  5. Avoid conflicts of interest and not use information obtained during the editorial process for personal gain. 
  6. Take appropriate action if any suspected violations of publication ethics are discovered, such as plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, or duplicate publication.

Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers play a crucial role in maintaining the scientific quality of articles through an objective, independent, and constructive review process.
Reviewers are obliged to:

  1. Provide assessments based on the scientific quality, methodology, validity of the results, and research contributions. 
  2. Provide constructive comments and suggestions to help authors improve the quality of the manuscript. 
  3. Maintain the confidentiality of all manuscript contents during the review process. 
  4. Avoid conflicts of interest and immediately withdraw if any relationship exists that could affect the objectivity of the assessment. 
  5. Identify potential plagiarism, duplicate publications, or important references not included by the author. 
  6. Complete the review process within the specified timeframe.

Author Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for presenting original, accurate, and scientifically sound research results.
Authors are required to:

  1. Guarantee that the manuscript is original work that has not been published or is currently under consideration in other journals. 
  2. Present research data honestly without fabrication, falsification, manipulation, or omission. 
  3. Cite all sources used correctly in accordance with scientific citation rules. 
  4. Ensure that all authors listed have made significant contributions to the research. 
  5. Disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to the research. 
  6. Be willing to make revisions based on input from editors and reviewers, if necessary. 
  7. Promptly notify the editor of any significant errors discovered after the article is published so that corrections or retraction of the article can be made in accordance with procedures.

Publisher Responsibilities
Publishers are responsible for supporting the implementation of a professional, transparent scientific publication process that adheres to international ethical standards. Publishers are obligated to:

  1. Guarantee the independence of editors in making editorial decisions. 
  2. Support the implementation of a fair, objective, and transparent peer review process. 
  3. Maintain digital archives and ensure the continuity of journal publications. 
  4. Protect authors' copyright and intellectual property in accordance with journal licensing policies. 
  5. Follow up on any suspected violations of publication ethics based on the principles of fairness, transparency, and accountability. 
  6. Encourage journal quality improvement through the implementation of best practices in scientific publication management.

Plagiarism and Academic Integrity
TENAR does not tolerate any form of violation of academic integrity, including:

  1. Plagiarism;
  2. Data fabrication;
  3. Data falsification; 
  4. Citation manipulation; 
  5. Duplicate publication; 
  6. Submission of manuscripts to more than one journal (simultaneous submission); 
  7. Authorship misconduct.

All manuscripts will be checked using similarity checking software before entering the peer review process. If any indication of violation of publication ethics is found, the editor reserves the right to reject the manuscript, request clarification from the author, or take other action in accordance with COPE guidelines.
